A Detailed overview of Big Data in today's World.
Introduction
Big data is a huge amount of data which has complex data sets and new data sources which traditional data software cannot process. Big data can be used by business to tackle problems which they couldn't before with the massive amount of data. Big data can help business address multiple factors in their system such as product development, predictive maintenance, customer experience, fraud and compliance, operational efficiency and drive innovation.
Types of Big Data
Big Data has three types of sets such as structured, unstructured and semistructured data which is collected by organizations by mining the information to use in their projects.
1. Structured Data - The data that can be stored, accessed and process in a fixed format can be called as structured data.
2. Unstructured Data - The data that does not have a format or a proper structure can be identified as unstructured data.
3. Semistructured Data - The data that is a combination of structured and unstructured data can be classified as semistructured data.
How Big Data Works
Big data helps businesses to get new insights about their business models and helps to open new opportunities for growth. The 3 actions that can be taken to implement big data are:1. Integrate - The data that comes through big data is from multiple sources and applications which traditional data software are not up to the task to integrate for which new strategy and software are required to analyze big data. To integrate big data information has to be processed and formatted in a way that business analysts can work with.
2. Manage - Big data can be in terabyte or petabyte which requires a lot of storage space which can be cloud or device storage. Many businesses choose their storage as per their requirements but cloud storage as been gaining popularity as it supports the system requirements.
3. Analyze - By getting more insights into the analysis of the data sets the investment in big data pays off when the data is analyzed and acted on it. By using machine learning and AI data can be analyzed and put to better use.
